Ox | A 50th Birthday
Portland, Oregon
When Ox referred a guest planning her husband's 50th birthday in the bar, we knew the room before we knew the request. She wanted autumn, warm, a little masculine — nothing light and airy.
Everything began with a rose called Coffee, though the name undersells it: a rusty red that bronze and burgundy never quite capture. It glowed against the backlit bar and the glossy tile below. Around it went heirloom mums, local dahlias, orange protea, marigolds, sunflowers, viburnum, three kinds of amaranth, sedge, grasses, and bronzed peony foliage.
A Tendril from our Meadows Collection anchored the bar, and bud vases were scattered through the space, with room left to breathe. At the end of the night, the flowers went home as gifts.
"The color and design choice were perfect, exactly what we were looking for. Thank you again for your hard work, timeliness, and expertise.” — Allison S.
